The Datzeberg Installation is a spatial installation that was created as part of the one-week laboratory project "Transit Neubrandenburg" at the Datze-Center. During the project, historical and personal material from the people of Neubrandenburg and Datzeberg was collected visually and auditorily.
The room installation consists of a mountain of wood, cardboard, paper and foam on which the Datzeberg prefabricated housing estate is modelled. In the model, children and adults have marked places that are important to them personally. Photos and text fragments are placed around the mountain, which were taken during the one-week stay or originate from the preceding research.
A fifteen-minute sound collage of field recordings from the Datzeberg and fragments from interviews with people from Neubrandenburg and Datzeberg plays in the background.
Installation and Audio Interviews: Teresa Monfared and Jacob Stoy.
Thanks to: Rika Weniger and Lisa Kempter (Text fragments).
Shown: 27. September – 2. October 2021
Location: Datze-Center, Neubrandenburg
